Science Centre HertsmonceuxThe Observatory Science Centre set in the grounds of Hertsmonceux Castle estate was built in the 1950’s. It housed three reflecting and three refracting telescopes in the six green domes.

Today there are over 100 interactive hands on science demonstrations ideal for a variety of aged children especially those interested in astronomy. They demonstrate various scientific facts with a number of themed areas such as the shocking electric room, the colour and lights room, outside water demonstrations, scientific playground and facts about earth and beyond section.

The Telescope tours (often held in school holidays) allows you to step inside two of the domes and experience how the astronomers work, view the large telescopes and see pictures of the night sky taken at Hertsmonceux. The Spectacular Science Shows also held in school holidays displays an entertaining and fun way to learn about physics! Overall The Observatory Science Centre can keep any mini scientist amused for hours and help introduce science in a fun and interactive way to both young children and teenagers.
